Effective July 13, 2026 · written in plain English on purpose

The short version: your writing lives on your Mac and we never see it. We run no analytics, set no cookies, and sell no data — on this website or in the app. The app talks to exactly three servers, and every one is listed below.

Your scripts

Slate saves your work to a folder you choose on your own Mac, as plain files you can open in any editor. Nothing you write is uploaded to us — we have no server that could hold it. If you point Slate at a cloud folder (Dropbox, iCloud Drive, Google Drive) for a backup copy or for co-writing, that's your account with that provider, under their privacy policy, and entirely under your control.

Everything the app sends over the network

That's the complete list. There is no telemetry, no usage tracking, no crash reporting, and no "anonymous analytics." When you write at 2 a.m., nobody knows but you.

Email

If you write to support@slatescript.app, we use your message and address to reply, and for nothing else. No lists, no marketing follow-ups.

What we'd hand over if you asked

Everything we have about you is: your purchase email and Stripe subscription status. Want it corrected or deleted (along with cancelling), or just want to know what's there? Email support and a human will handle it.

Changes

If this policy ever changes in a way that matters, the date above changes with it, and the plain-English promise stays.
